Classic Beef Lasagna

Ingredients:

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions, then drain.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer noodles, cheese mixture, beef, and sauce. Repeat until ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of sauce and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Tips:

  • Add sautéed spinach or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
  • Prepare ahead of time and refrigerate before baking to enhance flavors.
